Abstract
We will make a documentary movie about Atlantic salmon spawning behaviour
in the Farrar River. During october and November 1999, we will do
all the recordings on Glen Strathfarrar Nature Reserve. We
will film mainly in the Farrar River and its tributary "Misky".
We will use high technology digital video camcorders inside water housings
and able to operate via remote. Other
than the aquatic images from the complete salmon spawning cycle we plan
to include:
1. the natural habitat through the river runs.
2. other species associated with the salmon habitat
3. how we film in nature
4. Interviews
with managing salmon related people
In Scotland we will have the help of:
Anthony Hawkins, Marine Lab Aberdeen Director
Pitlochry Freshwater Laboratory personal
Beauly´s river bailiffs
Frank Spencer, owner of a River Farrar section
The movie will have the novelty of showing salmon behaviour during night
hours. We will use a black and white camera with a LED's ring attached
for making those recordings. We will also use an electrical power
and remote boat with a camera attached to make some moving recordings at
sea and estuary.
meanwhile in Scotland we
will carefully write for publishing an illustrated manuscript about the
Atlantic salmon reproductive natural history in the Farrar River.
